Prayer for a Mother's Patience
For the very ordinary moment — the third spill of the day, the whining, the hour before bedtime when patience has simply run out. Keep this one close and say it fast, right in the middle of the noise, not after.
Lord, I am out of patience and my children still need me. Give me one more measure of it, right now. Slow down my voice before it sharpens. Help me see my child's need under the behavior that frustrates me. I cannot manufacture calm on my own — lend me Yours. Let love win over exhaustion, just for this moment, and then again for the next one. Amen.
