Prayer for the Blessing of a Home
Adapted from prayers long used by families and priests when blessing a new or existing home, often said while walking through each room or lighting a candle at the front door. It asks God to make the house a place of peace and to keep harm from its threshold.
Bless, O Lord, this house and all who dwell within it. Let peace dwell in every room, and love in every heart. Guard its doors against harm and its windows against fear. May all who enter here find welcome, and may all who leave here go with your blessing. Amen.
