Grace After Meals
Where grace before meals asks a blessing, grace after meals gives thanks once the meal is finished — a habit of gratitude old enough that versions of it appear in monastic customs going back centuries. It's brief by design, meant to be said in a moment at the table.
We give thee thanks for all thy benefits, almighty God, who livest and reignest world without end. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
