Praised Be You — From Saint Francis's Canticle of the Sun

Saint Francis composed the Canticle of the Sun near the end of his life, blind and in great pain, yet it overflows with joy and thanksgiving for creation itself. This is a short excerpt, not the full canticle — good for a morning outdoors, or whenever the world itself feels like a gift again.
Most High, all-powerful, good Lord, all praise is Yours, all glory, honor, and blessing. Praised be You, my Lord, with all Your creatures, especially Brother Sun, who brings the day and gives us light. Praised be You, my Lord, for Sister Moon and the stars, formed by You so bright and precious and fair. Praised be You, my Lord, for Brother Wind, and for the air and clouds, calm and every kind of weather. Praised be You, my Lord, for our Sister Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us and brings forth fruit and flowers. Praise and bless my Lord, and give Him thanks, and serve Him with great humility.
