Prayer Before Starting a New Job
The nervous excitement of a first day — new coworkers, new expectations, a new routine to learn — is familiar to almost everyone. This prayer was written for that specific moment, whether it's a first job or a fresh start.
Lord, I begin this new work today with some nervousness and some hope. Calm my fears about what I don't yet know, and help me learn quickly what I need to learn. Give me good relationships with the people I will work alongside, and let my work, from the very first day, be honest and worthwhile. Whatever comes of this new chapter, let it draw me closer to You, not further away. Amen.
