Prayer for a Career Change
Deciding whether to leave a stable job, switch fields, or start over professionally is one of the more anxious kinds of decision-making — full of unknowns and real financial stakes. This prayer asks for clear discernment rather than a guarantee, which is usually all we can honestly ask for.
Lord, I'm standing at a crossroads in my work, and I don't know which way you're calling me. Quiet the anxious voices in my head that just want certainty, and give me instead real discernment. Show me where my gifts are actually needed, and give me the courage to walk away from what isn't right for me, even when it feels safer to stay. If change is what you're asking of me, give me peace to pursue it. If it isn't, give me contentment where I already am. Either way, walk this decision with me. Amen.
