Prayer to Saint Anne for Mothers
Saint Anne, honored in Church tradition as the mother of the Virgin Mary, has long been invoked as patroness of mothers, grandmothers, and expectant women. Devotion to her grew especially strong through medieval shrines such as Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, where mothers still bring their petitions today.
Good Saint Anne, you were favored by God to be the mother of Mary, who bore Our Savior. By your example of faithful motherhood, intercede for all mothers, that we may raise our children in faith and love. Obtain for us patience in our tiring days and joy in our small and hidden labors. Watch over our children as you once watched over Mary, and guide our families safely to God. Amen.
