Prayer to Saint Christopher for Travelers
Saint Christopher, whose name means "Christ-bearer," is honored in legend for carrying the Christ Child across a river, and has been invoked as patron of travelers ever since. Many drivers still carry his medal or image for safekeeping on the road.
Saint Christopher, protector of travelers, you carried the Christ Child safely across the river. Carry us safely too, wherever our journey leads. Watch over us on the road, in the air, and on the sea; keep us alert, keep us calm, and bring us safely to our destination. Amen.
