Prayer to Saint Expeditus for Urgent Deadlines
Saint Expeditus is a somewhat obscure early martyr whose name — evoking speed and readiness — led popular devotion, especially in parts of Europe and Latin America, to invoke him for urgent needs and situations that cannot wait. Little of his life is historically documented, but the devotion itself is old and widespread.
Saint Expeditus, known to the faithful as a friend of urgent causes, I bring you a pressing need: this task, this deadline, this decision that cannot wait any longer. Ask God to grant me clarity, speed, and steady hands to finish what must be finished. Keep me from procrastination and from panic alike, and let this urgent moment pass without harm to myself or others. Amen.
