Prayer to Saint Gerard for Expectant Mothers
Saint Gerard Majella, an 18th-century Redemptorist lay brother, became associated with pregnancy and childbirth after a widely told story of his restoring life to a dying infant through a token he had left behind. Expectant mothers have invoked him for a safe pregnancy and delivery ever since.
O good Saint Gerard, powerful intercessor before God and Patron of expectant mothers, I beg you to obtain for me the health and strength I need during this time of pregnancy. Watch over the child growing within me, and grant that I may carry, deliver, and raise this child in health and in the love of God. Through your intercession, may I be blessed with a safe and happy delivery. Amen.
