Prayer to Saint Homobonus for Businesspeople
Saint Homobonus was a 12th-century cloth merchant in Cremona, Italy, known for running his business with strict honesty and giving generously to the poor from his profits — the Church canonized him within two years of his death, unusually fast, precisely because a layman living out holiness in ordinary commerce was so striking. He's the patron of businesspeople, tailors, and merchants.
Saint Homobonus, faithful merchant of Cremona, you ran your business with honest hands and gave freely to those in need. Pray for me in my own work and finances. Keep me honest even when it costs me, bless the labor of my hands, and let whatever profit comes to me be used, as yours was, for good. Amen.
