All Souls' Day Prayer
This prayer echoes the collects long used at Masses for the dead and on November 2nd, All Souls' Day, when the Church prays in a special way for every soul in purgatory. It asks God's mercy for all the faithful departed, known and unknown.
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of your departed servants the remission of all their sins, that through our pious supplications they may obtain the pardon they have always desired. Who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
