Consecration to the Holy Family
Devotion to the Holy Family of Nazareth grew widely in the nineteenth century as a model for Catholic households, and prayers of consecration like this one were printed in family prayer books to be said together at home. It asks Jesus, Mary, and Joseph to bless and guide the family.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendor of true love; to you we turn with trust. Holy Family of Nazareth, make our family also a place of communion and prayer, an authentic school of the Gospel, and a small domestic church. Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never again experience violence, rejection, and division; may all who have been hurt or scandalized find comfort and healing. Holy Family of Nazareth, make us aware once again of the sacredness and inviolability of the family. Amen.
