Let Nothing Disturb You
Known in Spanish as "Nada te turbe," this brief verse was found written on a bookmark tucked into Saint Teresa of Avila's breviary after she died in 1582. Its plain, steady confidence has made it one of the most quoted lines from any Carmelite mystic.
Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you. All things are passing; God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone suffices.
