Prayer to Our Lady, Queen of Peace
Mary has been invoked as Queen of Peace for centuries, a title formally added to her Litany in 1917 amid the First World War. This prayer draws on that long devotion, asking her intercession for peace both personal and universal.
O Mary, Queen of Peace, look with a mother's love upon us, torn by anxiety and unrest of every kind. You know our weakness better than anyone. You know the depth of the wounds that sin inflicts on individuals and nations. But you know too our thirst for that genuine peace which your Son alone can give. Obtain for us, by your intercession, the peace we cannot obtain by ourselves, and grant that our hearts may be at rest in your Son. Amen.
