Prayer After a Miscarriage
For a loss that is often carried quietly, without the words or rituals other griefs receive. Whether the loss was recent or years ago, whether spoken of openly or held in silence, this prayer is for the parent who loved that child from the first moment they knew, and still does.
Lord, You knew this child before I did. I never got to hold the baby I already loved, and my arms and my heart still feel that absence. I entrust this little one to You, certain of nothing except that You hold what I could not keep. Comfort me in the way only You can, and let me feel, even a little, that this love was not wasted. Be gentle with me as I grieve, for as long as I need to. Amen.
