Prayer for Engaged Couples
Engagement is its own particular season — full of planning and excitement, but also the real work of learning to build a life together before the wedding day arrives. This prayer is written for that in-between time, when a couple most needs patience with each other and with the process.
Lord, bless the two of us as we prepare to become one. Give us patience with the planning, and clarity about what truly matters. Help us to talk honestly, even about the hard things, and to build our marriage on more than a single beautiful day. Strengthen the love that brought us here, and prepare our hearts for the life we are about to promise each other. Amen.
