Prayer to Saint Matthew for Financial Workers
Before becoming an apostle, Matthew worked as a tax collector, one of the least trusted trades in his time. His conversion, and his later work as an evangelist, has made him the traditional patron of accountants, bankers, and others who handle money for a living.
Saint Matthew, you left behind a life counting money for others to follow Christ with your whole heart. Watch over me in my work with numbers and finances. Help me to be honest in every transaction, fair to everyone I serve, and free of the love of money that once bound your old life. Guide my decisions today, and keep my integrity intact even under pressure. Amen.
