Saint Gertrude Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory

Tradition holds that Our Lord revealed this prayer to the thirteenth-century mystic Saint Gertrude the Great, promising that it would release a great number of souls from purgatory whenever it was prayed. It has circulated in Catholic devotional booklets for well over a century.
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most precious blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen.
