A Wedding Day Blessing Prayer
Nuptial blessings have been part of Christian marriage rites since the early Church, spoken over the couple as they begin their life together. This one draws on that long tradition of blessing rather than quoting any single rite verbatim, and works well read aloud at a wedding or given as a keepsake.
May the Lord bless you both and keep you. May he look upon you with kindness all the days of your marriage, and give you peace. May you grow old together in love that only deepens with time, quick to forgive, and slow to keep account of wrongs. May your home be filled with laughter, your table with plenty, and your hearts always with room for one another. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
